The Multi-Engine Rating is the perfect addition to your PPL. A multi-engine aircraft offers faster cruise speeds, extended range, and obviously the safety of having two engines.
Flying Time Airbase has two twin engine aircraft in the fleet. The modern Diamond Twin Star DA42, with Garmin 1000 avionics, and the six seat Piper PA27 Aztec.
The Multi-Engine Rating is a 7 hour course. With 6 hours dual flying, and one hours skill test at the end. During the course you will also have to complete about 7 hours ground school to prepare you for the ground exam.
All training is currently completed on the Piper Aztec. Beyond that you may wish to convert onto the Diamond Twin Star DA42. The conversion will be completed as per normal type conversion, but will include further instruction on EFIS and FADEC systems.
