The Instrument Meteorological Conditions Rating (only valid in the UK), enables you to fly in weather conditions considerably worse than those allowed with a basic PPL.
To add this rating to your license you need to complete a minimum of:
✦ 15 hours dual flying with a qualified instrument instructor that will cover
subjects such as:
Instrument appreciation.
Unusual attitude recoveries.
Instrument holds.
A Minimum of two different instrument approaches.
VOR/NDB tracking.
✦ A Ground exam.
✦ A skill test.
